Bookworms unite at the King’s English Bookstore for the Annual Holiday Party on Dec. 8!

Over 20 local writers will be in attendance, including Jerry Elias, Melanie Rae Thon, Matthew Kirby and Sara Zarr. Maybe you’ve been dying to hear what’s in store this year for your favorite Utah author, or maybe you’re just stumped for present ideas. Look no further than the King’s English, because books make great gifts for family members of all ages and you'll get a 20% off purchases made during the party!

Hors d’oeuvres will be provided, and a band of jolly carolers will be present to serenade you as you shop. The party takes place from 5 to 7 p.m.; for a complete list of authors that will be attending or for more information on the King’s English Bookstore click here.

Meet the Author

Keir Graff Book Signing, Tuesday, Dec. 6 from 7-8:30 p.m. Keir Graff will sign his first children’s book, The Other Felix, a story about a young boy learning to overcome his fears.

Eternal Starling debut, Wednesday, Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. Local author Angela Corbett will debut her first novel for young adults, Eternal Starling. The novel is the first in the Emblem of Eternity series and there will be a reading, book-signing, refreshments and prizes.

Steven L. Peck signing, Saturday, Dec. 10 from 4-5 p.m. Local author and ecologist Steven L. Peck will sign his new novel, The Scholar of Moab, based both in 1970’s Moab, UT and contemporary Vienna.

Colleen Houck signing, Wednesday, Dec. 14 from 6-8 p.m. Colleen Houck will sign the first novel in her New York Times bestselling fantasy-romance series, Tiger Saga: Tiger’s Curse.

For amateur cooks

Wine and Champagne pairings, Wednesday, Dec. 14 at 6:30 p.m. Wine educator Sheral Schowe will lead a discussion and champagne pairing with French hors d’oeuvres prepared by Harmons Le Cordon Bleu-trained Chef Evan Francois. The event will take place at Harmons Bangerter Crossing and attendees must be 21 or older. Registration price includes a copy of The Widow Clicquot, champagne tasting, cooking class and food. Santa Claus, Saturdays, Dec. 10 & 17 from 12-2 p.m. Santa will be at the King’s English to greet little shoppers.

Storytime Every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 11 a.m. head on down to the bookstore for storytime.

Friday Fun for Kids! Saturday, Dec. 9 at 4 p.m. All kids ages 3-8 are invited to attend a special storytime with Angelina Ballerina, with a fun activity and snack included. Registration and a $5 entrance fee required, call 801-484-9100 to sign up. Space is limited.
