Kick the weekend off with a star party at Wheeler Farm on Friday night, then get into the Halloween spirit at Hogle Zoo, Red Butte Garden and The Children's Theatre's newest play The Canterville Ghost.

The Salt Lake Astronomical Society will set up telescopes for you and your kids to check out the wonders of the universe on Friday night at dusk.

Enchanted Evening Explorations and Breakfast

Costumed characters will take you and your little ones on a tour of the Hogle Zoo after dark—plus, kids can meet Spiderella and her creepy, crawly friends. Check it out from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Oct. 21–22, 27–28. $10 per head, reservations can be made at hoglezoo.org.

The Zoo will also hold a special breakfast on Oct. 22, so kids can meet the creepy critters and the zoo can dispel all those nasty rumors about them.

Make sure you’re at the zoo next week as well, when they host the Boo at the Zoo trick-or-treating extravaganza on Oct. 29 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. More than 400,000 pieces of candy, free with zoo admission.

Garden After Dark at Red Butte Garden

Take your kids for a romp through the Garden in their costumes at nighttime, when Red Butte’s plants and animals glow on their own. The indoor/outdoor event includes crafts, light displays, activities and more.
