Much like last week, the first half of this week is relatively quiet prior to the arrival of a huge weekend of tasty concert options that start Thursday.

But for the adventurous, there are some worthy options.

Monday night at The Urban Lounge features Chicago bluegrass quintet Henhouse Prowlers headlining a show with locals Puddle Mountain Ramblers opening up. Music starts shortly after 10 p.m.

The Henhouse Prowlers quintet remind me of what Yonder Mountain String Band sounded like about 10 years ago. In other words, pretty traditional bluegrass but with some unexpected covers thrown in. Here they are singing The Beatles' "Helter Skelter."

A decidedly different option Monday features the energetic Pennsylvania punk rockers Title Fight, pictured above, headline a four-band bill at Kilby Court on Monday night. This could be a blast. Here they are singing "Flood of '72."

Also this week:

Straight-ahead rockers Face to Face will be at The Complex on Tuesday night as part of a three-band bill. Tickets remain on sale at smithstix.com.

Max Pain and The Groovies will be at The Urban Lounge on Wednesday night for an evening of local music.

Also Wednesday, New York rockers Taking Back Sunday arrive at In The Venue headlining a three-band show. Tickets start at $27 and doors open at 6 p.m.

Again, have fun out there and check back Thursday morning as we roll through a huge weekend of musical delights.
