The 2008 Rivalry Ride. Yep. It snowed that year. Yep. That's Mayor Becker.

This Saturday bike-loving Mayor Ralph Becker and Provo City Mayor (not sure of his bike policy stance, presumably pro?) John Curtis will ride from Provo to Salt Lake City for some reason that kind of has to do with the Utes-Cougars thing but is really about hunger, apparently. Whew.

Cool thing is you can go too. Bring your bike to the the City County Building at 8:30 a.m., Saturday,  May 7 or if you're already in Provo meet at the Provo City Center at 10 a.m. where the 50 mile ride of mayoral rivals will begin.

Let's go to the press release:

"The two mayors encourage the public to donate cans of non-perishable food items at the Provo City Center, the Salt Lake City & County Building or at residential doorsteps for pick up by letter carriers on Saturday, May 14.  The Utah Food Bank and Community Action Services and Food Bank will also continue to accept food donations before and after the Rivalry Ride."

So Food Bank stuff. Cool But I'm really curious about the bike way from Provo to SLC so I'm planning on schlepping down to Provo with Mayor Becker and back on Saturday. See you there?
