Christmas is right around the corner and Chanukah is in full swing, which is why Rabbi Benny Zippel is hosting Chanukah on Ice at the Gallivan Center this Sunday, and Santa's reindeer are living up the last days of their vacation at Discovery Gateway and Utah's Hogle Zoo this weekend. Kick it all off with a movie at the City Library...not one with a holiday theme exactly, but it does have the North Pole.

The Last Airbender at the Library

Aang and his friends are on their way to the North Pole, not to see Santa, but to learn the ancient art of waterbending. Meanwhile, Fire Lord Ozai decides to start a war. It's part of the City Library's weekly kid-friendly movies at in the story room. Directed by M. Night Shyamalan.

Reindeer at Discovery Gateway

One of Santa's reindeer takes a break from his rigorous sleigh-training schedule to hang out with families at Discovery Gateway. Take your photo with the furry helper while you can, because he'll only be at the museum for one day.

ZooLights!/Reindeer at Hogle Zoo

Utah's Hogle Zoo hosts two of Santa's other reindeer, who will stay at the zoo until Dec. 24. So, if you miss seeing the one at Discovery Gateway up close this weekend, don't be too hard on yourself. Stay until it gets dark for ZooLights!

Chanukah on Ice!

Free ice skating for Utah's Jewish community and friends, along with delicious latkes and sufganiyot (jelly donuts) and, of course, Utah's largest indoor Menorah lighting. Thank Rabbi Benny Zippel on the ice...extra points if you dress like a dreidel and do spins.
